Year of Our Lord

from Sometimes I Feel the Spirit by Noah Glenn

/

about

This song was inspired by/based on Isaiah 35 and 61. Isaiah 61 is the passage Jesus read from when he began his time of ministry.

It was recorded in 3 hours in my living room. The organ used on this track is an 1892 Story & Clark pump organ left to me by my grandfather.

lyrics

Good news to the poor
He was sent to proclaim
New sight to the blind
Liberty in His name

Captive men shall He free
Broken hearts shall He mend
Comfort to those who mourn
Prison stays he shall end

It’s the year of the Lord
Let us all celebrate
It’s the year of our Lord
May it not pass away

Strengthen my weak hands
make firm my feeble knees
Wipe clean my heart
Take all malice from me

We will sing out in joy
And put on festive clothes
Even deserts rejoice
And blossom as a rose

It’s the year of the Lord
Let us all celebrate
It’s the year of our Lord
May it not pass away
